Vinod Khanna - His Oscillating Life in the 80s

In the 80s, when villain-turned-hero Vinod Khanna was at the peak of his success, his mother, whom he loved from the bottom of his heart, died.

After the death of his mother, Vinod Khanna was always troubled and went into depression. In such a situation, on the advice of Mahesh Bhatt who was very close to him then, Vinod took refuge in Rajneesh (Osho) Ashram for his peace of mind.

Since Vinod Khanna was a big star at that time and Mahesh Bhatt was a struggling director, Vinod Khanna would also cater to his needs and Mahesh Bhatt would also support him.

It would also not be wrong to say that both were companions of each other 's misery and happiness.

At that time, the news also began to rise in the film world that Vinod Khanna had retired from films, now he may never work, but how could he leave the work for which he had once revolted from his father. Well, gradually Vinod's mind became capable of thinking & he started feeling that now he should start working in films again because peace will be found only in the work of his choice. By the way, Vinod Khanna had already touched the heights of success, so how long could he hold himself in such a situation?

Vinod Khanna may have been away from the film world for some time, but he was eagerly awaited by his fans as well as film directors and producers.

When Vinod Khanna left Osho Ashram and returned to the film world, Mahesh Bhatt, like other directors, thought of making a film with him. To revive Vinod Khanna's career, Mahesh Bhatt appointed his brother Mukesh Bhatt as Vinod Khanna's secretary.

One of Mahesh Bhatt's motives behind it was that Mukesh Bhatt's life would also be saved by joining Vinod Khanna because Mukesh Bhatt was wandering around like a very careless and irresponsible person at that time. Vinod Khanna also did not object to this because here it was a matter of their friendship.

According to media reports, Mahesh Bhatt was famous for his arbitrary attitude in those days. It was his habit to stop people's payments and make them work arbitrarily. He wanted to do something similar with Vinod Khanna. When Vinod Khanna did not get his advance payment on time as promised, he realised that Mahesh Bhatt was misusing his friendship.

Vinod Khanna was very upset with this, after which he stopped the shooting of that film for about one and a half months so that Mahesh Bhatt could get a lesson and also understand that he does not tolerate such things at all.

After the shooting was stopped, Mukesh Bhatt, defending his brother, started defaming Vinod Khanna from place to place and also started spreading negative things about him.

When the news of this disgrace reached Vinod Khanna's ears, he felt very sad. One day, Vinod had a heated argument with Mukesh Bhatt about these things, and the matter escalated so much that the scuffle happened. Actually, Vinod Khanna could not tolerate Mukesh, being a secretary, instead of giving respect to a big star like him, talking in an inappropriate tone, even though he is the friend of Mahesh Bhatt. That day Vinod Khanna got so angry that he slapped Mukesh Bhatt.

The news spread like wildfire all over the film industry. When Mahesh Bhatt came to know about this, he could not bear the beating of his brother, as a result of which his friendship with Vinod Khanna was broken forever and the work of that film also stopped there.

Vinod Khanna, who was associated with that film from the start, did not want to do anything during his return to films that his professional image would be damaged because he had only one or two films released after his return. Apart from this, he was also worried about the other actors and technicians associated with that film.

Vinod Khanna himself completed and released that film in some way. That film was 'Jurm', one of whose songs 'Jab Koi Baat Bigad Jaye' is still everyone's favourite romantic song.
